Content:

The Course will have sessions on theory & experiments. The course will be based on the contents of STD 8-12 CBSE Physics
specifically focused on common pitfalls in basic physics. The theory course will have sessions in mechanics, electricity
and magnetism, optics, sound and acoustics, heat and thermodynamics and basic astronomy. The course will possibly include
discussion of some PER papers relevant to the course content.

The lab course will begin with an introduction to experimental physics and important aspects related to measurements, data
analysis, and estimation of errors. During the lab course, students will work on a set of experiments from elementary
mechanics, optics, electricity and magnetism.

 

Assessment:
1. Continuous Evaluation (Theory + Lab) - 60 %
2. End-of-course experimental task (lab) - 20%
3. Student Presentations (theory) - 20 %
