ABOUT US
WHAT DO WE DO?
The Biology Cell @HBCSE develops challenging and engaging experimental and theoretical activities/tasks to enhance learning from high school to the undergraduate level. Major programs of the Cell include the Biology Olympiad Programme for Junior college students and the National Initiative on Undergraduate Science (NIUS) for undergraduate students. We also conduct student and teacher nurture camps to promote hands-on laboratory experiments in modern biology.
OUR APPROACH
Our focus is to help students and teachers to understand key concepts through a variety of pedagogical approaches like problem-based learning, proto projects, etc. Here we share resources developed in our labs for the benefit of a larger group of students, teachers, and instructors. We will post updates about the upcoming events/ camps so stay tuned!
OUR PROGRAMS
BIOLOGY OLYMPIAD
The Biology Cell is actively involved in the selection and training of the student team to represent India at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).
NIUS
The National Initiative on Undergraduate Science (NIUS) is a program focused on research-based science education at the undergraduate level.
OUTREACH
The Biology Cell conducts workshops and camps for students and teachers with an emphasis on the experimental component in the biological sciences.
