Founding fathers of our independent nation had envisioned science and technology as vehicles for bringing about economic emancipation and social equity. They sought to inculcate a scientific temper among the masses. Imaginative science communicators can play a key role in changing public attitudes towards science. The talk will analyse the existing challenges and address effective means of enhancing public understanding of science.
