Science Media Centre (SMC)

Established in 2024 at HBCSE–TIFR, the Science Media Centre (SMC) is a state-of-the-art hub designed to enhance science education and outreach through advanced audio-visual technologies.

Facilities:

• Recording Area: A soundproof studio space featuring a chroma wall, high-configuration cameras, professional audio systems, and an interactive panel for demonstrations and lectures.
• Post-Production Area: A space designed for a team of five to six to handle video editing, animation, graphic design, and colour correction.

The centre supports a wide range of activities, including educational videos, online courses, and digital outreach projects, furthering the HBCSE–TIFR mission to promote excellence in science communication.
