Curriculum Development for National and State Agencies

Textbooks for the State and National Levels

HBCSE members have regularly served on committees for writing science textbooks for the Maharashtra State and for the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The science textbooks for Stds. I-VII, published by the Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research (Balbharati), have one member of HBCSE on every writing team.

The NCERT science textbooks for middle and secondary schools, and the Physics textbooks for the senior secondary levels have had, over the years, significant contributions from HBCSE members who served on the curriculum and writing committees. The Std. XI and Std. XII NCERT physics texts have carried more than a thousand carefully designed problems nearly all contributed by HBCSE. HBCSE members have contributed to books for the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) and the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU). Books on mathematics teaching are currently being written for.
